Chris Patterson

Chris is a Community Solutions Advisor with Washington Trust Bank and is the former US Department of Housing and Urban Development regional administrator for Region IX (which includes CA, AZ, HI, NV, and US territories and commonwealths in the Pacific Ocean) under Secretary Ben Carson. He is currently working with the Washington Trust Charitable Foundation in collaboration with local businesses in the Spokane, WA area on homelessness, opioid addiction, and mental health issues. Chris grew up in the foster care system and is the founder of BreakThrough Inc., an organization that services people with autism and developmental disabilities.

About the Event

TOPIC: Running for State Legislator

SPECIAL GUEST: John Fuller

John Fuller attended college in Illinois where he wrestled competitively. He was drafted into the Army and spent the last years of the 1960s in Army green in Vietnam. By the 1970’s he settled in the suburbs of Chicago and embarked on a career in teaching high school Economics, Political Science, and History. John returned home to Montana in 1995 and resumed teaching at Flathead High School. During that time he was appointed by Governor Judy Martz to the Montana State Board of Public Education (2001-2008) and retired from teaching in 2009. A few years later he went to work for Congressman Ryan Zinke as his northwest Montana Field Director and then in 2018 was elected to the Montana House of Representatives from House District 8 (West Kalispell). After serving in the 66th (2019) and 67th (2021) Sessions of the Montana State Legislature, he was prevailed upon to run for the State Senate (District 4) when Senator Mark Blasdel was term-limited.
